Refined Iodize Salt

Description

Refined iodized salt is a refined type of salt, which means it has been processed to remove impurities and is then fortified with iodine, an important micronutrient necessary for thyroid hormone production. Iodine naturally occurs in seawater but is often absent from inland soils, leading to deficiencies among populations. Or, iodine is added to table salt so that it will be made available in the diet and help prevent these deficiencies which would otherwise crop up.
